A few weeks ago in Pick Me Up: NAME ILYA’S BABY
“I am unthrilled by the selection of boy’s names I can think of for our soon-to-be-born child. Any ideas for something slightly off-beat that fits with my (frankly daft but I like it) surname but doesn’t overwhelm it with otherness?” ILYA COLAK-ANTIC
Here today: NAME CHARLIE’S BUSINESS
“We (Standard Office Cleaning) need a new name. The word standard nowadays means boring and average - and we’re anything but. We’re growing rapidly, and whereas most cleaning companies pay low-skilled employees a low-wage, we reward our workforce with a capital stake in each individual contract.” CHARLIE MOWAT
Can you help Charlie? Comments are open.
And winner gets a bottle of champagne.

How about Acclaim Cleaners, takes your philosophy of rewarding employees but also shows clients what kind of cleaning company you are.

Some nice ideas there. “Top of the Mops” made me laugh (which might not be a good thing if it makes potential clients laugh…). Looking forward to seeing some more

Name at present seems to imply a basic cleaning service. How about ‘Care Office Cleaning’, but only if you speialise in offices; otherwise drop the office.

I think some of these suggestions are brilliant, I just wished I had asked the same question when I started my little business. I love Top Of The Mops, I think its nice if your customers laugh, and find it funny, because they are more likely to remember it. ALso Shiny Happy People everyone will remember the song and then your business. I just wish I could think of something that good.

I’ll second Squeaky. Also good if you move into pest control. “We’re Squeaky - so they’re not”.

I like Squeaky too. I think some of the others, like “Top of the Mops” are funny and quirky but probably not right. Something which implies that you will take on the horrible stuff which your clients might not want to do. Remember one of Matt’s Bricks last year about Mr Muscle - “loves the jobs you hate.” So, perhaps, Easy Office Cleaning or Direct Office Cleaning. I also quite like Top2Bottom but I wonder how long text-speak will last.
